My credentials

As a full time mediator since 1990, Thomas Caprio has conducted more than 15,000 mediations. He worked for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Office of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit for eighteen years where he served as Director. In 2008 he went out on his own as a full-time private mediator.

Mr. Caprio is a State of Florida certified Family mediator. In addition, he has significant experience in the areas of Circuit Civil Mediation, County Mediation, Juvenile Dependency Mediation and Parenting Coordination.

Having a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Mathematics, Mr. Caprio has significant experience and is highly skilled and comfortable working with numbers and reports including analyzing financial data, calculating child support, compiling statistical reports, negotiating and drafting contracts, and developing and/or analyzing business and asset evaluations.

Tom also has a Masters of Divinity degree, which, along with his significant years of experience, has taught him how to deal with people in the midst of crisis. Whether they are dealing with hurt, anger, depression or a whole host of other emotions, Tom has learned to connect with people and to help move them towards resolving their conflicts.

Additionally, Mr. Caprio has a creative and proactive style which he uses to help people brainstorm many different possible solutions to their problems and often, they will choose an option which works best for them. Over the years, this skill has been instrumental in helping to settle many cases.
